Thesis Overview: This research focused on PFAS treatment through the pollutants' accumulation and aggregation abilities. PFAS is a dangerous pollutant that is difficult to remove from the environment, especially in water. Through this research, PFAS aggregation in water will be studied and variables will be tested with the goal of improving different PFASs ability to aggregate. Since studies have shown that short-chained PFAS are less likely to aggregate compared to longer-chained PFAS, an emphasis will be placed on improving aggregation in short-chained PFAS during this project. The results of this project, improving the efficiency of the PFAS aggregation, will aid in the efficiency of different PFAS separation technologies currently being used such as foam fractionation.
